A prayer of Patrice who joined us from Kigali in Rwanda
Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy,
May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Forgive us our sins as we have forgiven those who sin against us.
And don't let us black and white people yield to temptation but rescue us from the evil one.
We know that all human beings are made in your image and Jesus' love and sacrifice was for all people at all time,
As a church, we believe this truth, and we know when one part of the body suffers, we also suffer.
You made everybody in the world from one man, and you caused us to live in different places on the earth. You decided all these things before you made us. You decided where we should live. And you also decided how long we should live. We are taking a moment to reflect and ask for Your forgiveness for the pain and hurt of racism and the damage and havoc it continues to create.
Help us in building not in destroying what we have built and give us a heart of unity and reconciliation and respecting each other in peace. Please help us to forgive each other for the bad history of the past.
It is in Jesus' name we pray.
